As we wrap things up, I wanted to share one last thing that you might need to shed: the what if’s. It’s always good to be prepared, but dwelling in fear of what might happen will never get you anywhere. The truth is, there will always be a reason to worry. We could always dwell on things that could go poorly. But sometimes we have to put those things aside because they are eating us alive. We have to learn to shed those what if’s so that we can truly fly.

But that doesn’t mean that we should be ignorant. No, we should still be prepared for what’s to come. The difference between dwelling in the what if’s and being prepared is the fear that we are refusing to live with. It’s pretty fair to be afraid of what might happen in life, especially when it starts to look like something might come to pass. What I like to do is to jot down what I would do if the big scary thing were to happen. That way I’m not caught off guard if it does. But then I try my best to put it away so that I can enjoy my life.

But that second part isn’t easy. I wish I could say that it was, but it’s not. It’s why I think it’s so important to have a good sense of discipline to keep you grounded. I know what my favorite things to do are, and I force myself to keep doing them, no matter how I’m feeling. I have found if I just keep at it, I can eventually stabilize whatever mood I’m in.

With that out of the way, I’m grateful to you for joining me for this series. I can see the numbers, so I can tell how many people have shown up to read each of these posts. Even when it’s just one or two of you, you bring a little more light to my life, knowing that I’m not just preaching to the mirror. I’m encouraged by each and every one of you.

But as we part ways, know this: storms will still come through in your life. Your wings may grow heavy with the weight of the rain, or seared by a streak of lightning. But don’t be weighed down by the world going on around you. Don’t be discouraged by how things may look right now. Stay light and remind yourself regularly of where you are going. Even if you have to take a few unexpected twists and turns, you can still reach your destination in due time. Everything will work out, rest assured.

I pray hope finds you this day. I pray the burdens you are carrying are revealed to you, and that you learn to shed every last one of them. Sometimes we become blind to the things we are holding onto. It’s easy to let things become the norm after a while. Consider taking some inventory and checking if some of your thoughts are really where they ought to be.

And consider taking on a bigger challenge. I have found that treading in deeper waters often brings a thing or two out of you. Perhaps you will find something that you didn’t know you had in you. You’ll never know until you give it a shot!

So spread those wings! Light your dark horizons! Let the world hear you rumble like thunder as you strike like fresh lightning! You’ve got everything that it takes to tread the frozen heights where stars are born, and where they die. You have everything you need and more

to tread where legends fear to fly.

Until next time

May Peace be your Guide.
